Calm and quiet by Brian Matiash

349 seconds – just about six minutes. It can either fly by or seem like forever depending on the context. In the case of the shot above, it was both. On one hand, the sheer beauty of the sun setting seemed so fleeting. Every few settings, the light and colors shifted and you just had to appreciate it in the few moments that you had it for. On the other hand, it seemed like an eternity waiting for my camera to expose for this long because I wanted to ensure that I had at least one useable shot and really didn’t have the luxury of time for a ‘do over’.
Fortunately, I walked away happy with the exposure that I grabbed. Simply calm and quiet.
